Heather, that’s a great question. Yes, if you only have 10-15 attending, I would leave it as one large group. You’ll just have to work a bit harder to make sure everyone has the chance to participate. Have you considered offering training for potential group leaders or asking someone to co-leade with you so you can mentor them and eventually release them to lead on their own?

As for prayer requests, I used to struggle with praying out loud too and so do many other women I know. We held a prayer workshop at one church we attended and it really helped grow the confidence of our women in praying out loud. I compiled all of the materials and have made the resource (Prayer Warrior Boot Camp) available for leaders to purchase. You can find more information here – https://womensministrytoolboxshop.com/collections/ebooks/products/prayer-warrior-boot-camp-for-groups.

Praying God will grow your group – in number and in spiritual maturity!

I’m pastors wife at a small rural church. I am 35, but save one young girl who is 21, the other 10-15 who attended our fall bible study were between 60 and 80. Also, I don’t have many, if any who are willing to lead small groups. Should I just leave us in a large group setting? (Because of Covid, we are sitting at tables of 4 and social distancing). Praying for more laborers, but would like to find a way to facilitate more discussion. I tried small prayer groups after our bible study, but several ladies said they don’t like praying aloud in groups and wouldn’t share prayer requests in small group settings. Tips would be appreciated. Its also difficult because they have mostly all been there decades and older than I, whereas we have only been here a year and half and in much different stage of life.

Kathy, I’ve sent you an email. 🙂 Tables can certainly become a sacred cow. Praying God will give you wisdom in how to proceed.

I know God has given me a vision that we are to gather in a circle around a couch area and a coffee table was in the middle for food. I felt it was a time for us to be close and intimate and not as a class room usually around 8-10 ladies come out. Some complaining and ladies some ladies wouldn’t around the circle they stay at a table. I don’t know what to do and how to handle it. Could you give me some tips with what to do and say. If my group got much bigger possibly it could change to seating at the tables
