Our women’s ministry is getting ready to do a survey…never been done to my knowledge. Is there any way you might share with me the survey or the format of the survey questions and how these comments were attained? Were there specific questions to gather statistics and then an area for comments?

Oh, Lydia! I hate to hear that you are facing such opposition. Praying God will remove the barriers before you and thwart Satan’s attacks. Only God can change and soften their hearts… Rally some prayer partners who are willing to meet regularly and ask God to move. Praying for you to persevere.

I really appreciate some of these comments, well, really all of them. Our church is very closed to new things, i.e., new speakers, etc. How do I get these “set in their ways” into the new and deeper spiritual meat. I’ve been here for 9 years and nothing has changed or works. I do give ‘all’ to my Father in heaven, it is frustrating. My committee and I planned a Christmas Bazaar, no feedback, we sent out flyers, etc. but no interest. Am I doing something wrong? I do teach Bible study. Some of these members were upset the former pastor gave me the “job” 1-2 days after I joined! I had been a minister, went to seminary. and have been active for my Lord for 40 years.
I love the women in my body of believers, there is a clique of women who have gone here for years, more than 10. I sometimes get the feeling that they stand in the way. More prayer, I guess! I am going to purchase your book for planning retreats. I have done retreats before. “Nothing formed against me shall prosper but I (God) shall refute the words (AND actions) of the wicked. God will vindicate.”

Kelley, thank you for your comments! I hope and pray they’ll speak to their leaders to and help create change. I’m glad you’ve found this survey helpful!

The “wrestling” questions do stress me (being honest here) mainly because I’m wondering how many of these things have been said by ladies at our church. Admittedly, every event isn’t perfect. I hope, after sharing this list with our team, this list will help us keep our focus. But I also hope that the ladies that shared the information will go talk honestly with their leaders. Then offer to help. I would much rather have a woman lovingly share negative comments with me (though they can sting) than talking with her group of friends about it. Thank you so much for doing this survey. It is very helpful. And I agree with the craft thing – I have no craft talent so please don’t stress me out! haha!
