Georgia, ulimately, yes, you have to honor his request if he’s requesting access and he’s a part of every group in the church. However, I would request to have a meeting with him FIRST so you can share what the purpose of your group is and why you think his presence could hinder the sharing of prayer requests, discussion, etc. I agree with you – it likely will.

Once you can figure out why he wants to join, you can find ways to address any concerns that he has.

Do you have a communications team at your church? What guidelines have been set in place regarding social media groups? It may be this highlights the need for some guidelines and a discussion with the elders and/or church staff. Once he understands your concerns and purpose, he may agree that his presence is not needed and could be disruptive.

Praying for wisdom for you!

We have specifically made it for women and I am not sure how to handle this request for him to join the group. He says he is part of every group of the church, but I feel his presence in the group may hinder some from sharing freely. Do I accept him as a member?
